Well, Huey Lewis and the News never broke up either. They've continued to tour, playing on the casino and state fair circuit in front of dwindling crowds of corndog-stuffed fans who can't recognize a walking corpse when they smell one.

I don't think they're dead, but they're going the way of the Rayban Wayfarer: THey're a classic but because they've been pushed so hard recently, you end up looking like your trying too hard and are catching onto the craze a couple of years late.

which is the shittest thing about these trends coming and going.

The way around that is just to wear really distressed ones. More beat up the better like you've had them "forever." Even though you're only 16.

wrong, unlike wayfarers there aren't many substitutes to deck shoes

you can get 800 different kinds of sunglasses appropriate for summer

ps. wayfareres are lame

IMO there are heaps of substitutes for boat shoes. namely low canvas sneakers. people also wear those esparadilles things. also suede bucks and desert boots cover a fair range of the summer shoe class. loafers could work too.

Yeah but not quite as far as the wayfarer. you can still do it successfully.

They're not dead, just pining for the fiords of Norway.

I wear deck shoes in the Summer and I don't have an issue with them.
