Not exclusive to girls.
I know, right? First they wear pants, then they vote! Who knows what's next, right?!?!? (10)
The voting thing is a problem. But the true issue with marriage is this idea of a "soul mate," which theorizes that there is a perfect person out there and that life is Merlot and poet-massages. Poisonous idea that screws up many girls.
Marriage isn't my thing, but I don't picture myself alone in my late years. Too angry when another person tries to take control; too weak when I find myself in quiet loneliness.
This is so true.
fwiw, 11 years married, with our share of crap and all, its still very much worth it for me.
Worth it for me too, I love you hubby!
Get married when you are ready to have kids. No sooner.
Go in assuming it will be till death do you part, but prepared for it to end well before then.
luv you too, boo. I'm gonna be late getting home tonight, but do wait up- I gotta a huuuge surprise for you
If you have the right woman, without a doubt yes it is worth it.
Gf wont even allow me to ask her hand in marriage. Not untill The laws have changed so that we can enter it as equals. As it stands The laws are highly favorable towards women when divorcing, but our government is planning an overhaul to reflect The Times more. Gf is à phd student in european union law, and thinks that even though divorce law is in The womens favor, It ultimately works against them as more and more people chose to forgo The institute completely.
If you ain't no punk, holla, "We want prenup! We want prenup! Yeah!". It's something that you need to have because when she leave your ass, she gon leave with half.
The unbearable whiteness of being.
I married a good deal earlier - 27 - and knowing what I know now I would have waited until I was past 30.
Hmmm, that kind of blows a theory of mine out of the water. Ah well.
I don't think men and women will ever be equals as viewed re: society/law. Just my opinion, and I hope to someday be proven wrong, but for now I'm skeptical.
Most of us will never win the super bowl and drive off in a Hyundai.
Always classy, Jan.
Despite all the change that has happened to SF in the last year or so, there's one thing we can always count on: If someone starts a thread about women, there's a near-one probability that JLib will stop by to spew some hateful misogyny.
