Have you ever purchased a really hideous item because it was on major discount from a very high end manufacturer? I find it's something I have done less and less of as I've learned how to spot better bargains and what items are on sale because they are UGLY with or without a Kiton or Brioni label. But we've ALL made mistakes. Let's see some pix.

What about that tan/orange sportscoat with the zippered pocket that someone posted.

your poll didn't have a response for me. If its ugly to my eye I'll never buy it. But there are many things made solely by high end makers that are ridiculous or out of the norm I still find cool.

If I am going to were something goofy (usually as a piece of an overall more normal look) then it helps for it to be better quality and not look tacky.

For example: I have a RLPL black velvet blazer it is rad and the quality is obviously superb. I paid just over 200 bucks from a $2200 retail. There are other $200 velvet blazers around at retail and they look like trash. Basically, if I am going to look goofy, I am going to back it up with quality

^ You could put seersucker or spectator shoes in that category for me. Still, I think that's option 1.... you bought good stylish (albeit somewhat quirky) stuff on sale, and nothing you regret. That's commendable. I bought a few disasters in my younger days.
