Or is that wrong to do?

Yeah I have 230 posts but I still don't know all that much. Most of my posts were trying to learn things, and I still have millions of more things to learn.

I'm not sure why they put Senior Member under a name after so few posts. IMO 1000 posts is more reasonable.

I just bought two pinstriped Hickey Freeman blazers on eBAY then only after I bought them is when I realized it's a problem because my pants don't have stripes.

Is it easy to find pants with stripes to match those?

When I do an eBAY search I have a hard time finding striped pants that can match them. Do I need to change my search terms, or look somewhere other than eBAY?

You will never find matching pants if these are used items - NEVER (okay maybe a 1 in 10 Million chance). Its not unheard of to have suits sold as seperates - so you may get lucky if these are new jackets - but I really doubt it.

Of course the only thing worse then wearing a striped jacket with plain pants would be wearing a striped jacket with unmatched striped pants.

Well, that sucks. Just spent like $50+ on two blazers that I won't be able to wear without looking like a doofus. Is that the sad reality of what you guys are telling me?

What you have bought are undoubtedly orphaned suit jackets. In fact, almost all striped jackets you see on ebay or in a thrift store will be orphans. There are many rules that result from sf groupthink, not all of them are necessarily true- unfortunately, the one about no striped odd jackets definitely is. There are few exceptions- Cucinelli does a striped number, but it has the suede elbow patches, white buttons, and decidedly non-worsted fabric characteristic of their other pieces that make it obviously not part of a suit. Still, I much prefer the solid versions to the striped.

How far does that rule extend?

Is it okay to wear windowpaned jackets with plain pants?

Herringboned jackets with plain pants?

Checkered jackets with plain pants?

I guess my new rule of thumb is that pinstripes are evil.

This is not far wrong.

But the correct answer is that stripes are businesswear. They are for suits. The one exception is formal day trousers, which I am going to guess is something you are not in the market for.
