is it sinful to mix and match suits?

If they each belong to a suit, then yes, you are in a state of mortal sin. Say the Rosary and an additional 5 Our Fathers.

It will probably look bad because of the pinstripes. Matching these will be nearly impossible and just look odd. For future reference, leave the suits as suits.

You were possibly making progress until you wrote that both had stripes.
It is hard to imagine a pairing like that which I would recommend.

Mix and match can work if done properly.
Look at this post by Will on his blog and the pic for an idea. They don't have to be solids.

Mixing black and brown is a mortal sin ,stripes or not..Car crash just came to my mind....
Oneeightyseven is right ..If it is part of a suit , keep it that way...
The only combo I can imagine is a pair of jeans with a jacket of a suit or a linen jacket ...

I agree with the black and brown mix, but I think you can mix other colors of other suits if it looks ok. Also, "pics or it didn't happen" is THE gayest thing about this forum.
