I want a double breasted blazer from Banana Republic- it looks like what i'm looking for however there are only 4 buttons, and I only like 6.

Would it be possible for a tailor to add another row of buttons on top? They would just be aesthetic.

If so how much can I expect to pay?

Thanks for the help guys!

Here's the blazer:

More than just seweing on a pair of buttons - if you can't find matching buttons, you would be looking at replacing an entire set. At that price point you would do better for your money at Suit Supply.

how much is it to buy a full set of buttons? i cant imagine it being too expensive....suitsupply has a blazer i want for around $400, so if i can spend less than $300 to buy a set of buttons and have them sewn on, then i think i would do it.

also they should give you extra buttons when you buy the blazer so i can use those.

Adding a top button on this jacket won't work due to the high buttoning point and spacing between the buttons.

The four lower buttons are fixed and immovable because of the buttonholes. You want the vertical distance between the three buttons to be equal or ideally the top button is place around 1" more than the space between the middle and lower button. The middle button is placed too high to get either of the two scenarios to work.

Plastic buttons will cost a dollar or two for each button. Horn buttons maybe 5 to 6 dollars each at retail pricing
