Is it OK for Ecco shoes sole to crack in less than 2 years?

I wouldn't want any plastic compound that dries out like that in my house.
When plastics go from soft to brittle like that, it generally means that they are leaching Bisphenol A, a common compound in soft plastics that is a known carcinogen. Do yourself a favor an chuck them in the garbage and never let another pair in your house.
Plus they are ugly.

do these review go for their outdoors line as well, including this? or are you guys just reffering to their dress shoes? http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=1Y03 i was thinking about purchasing the shoes above, but would like to hear any better alternatives.
