Honestly if its about someone on the forum wouldn't it be better just to take the matter private or consult one of the other mods who'se opinion you respect via PM?

No... It's not just about one person either, although a lot of you obviously think you know who I'm talking about. (Some of you do know one or two of them.) And it's not just about the forum.

You can be like me and tell people that if they have problems, they should 1) stop complaining (to me, in particular), and 2) do something about it.

For example:
Him: ******* is too short, and I can't satisfy my GF.
Me: STFU, and do something about it.
Him: Like what?
Me: Either get surgery, or let me have a go with her.

Yeah, my friends love me.

You guys could just make it like the NFL and have a rule that if you report something stupid or make a dumb complaint you get a timeout for a certain period of time.

Also, the Douchebag contest worked quite well last year when it came to sorting out similar issues.

It was missing a few nominees. In any case I don't want to encourage people to campaign for that award again.

How about short, canned responses, for messages you can't ignore? Something like "Got your message." "STFU" would be cathartic but too likely to provoke further correspondence. Whatever you guys do or don't do, I think you should have zero guilt for dealing with problems with minimal effort and inconvenience.

We could even put together a virtual tip jar so that mods can send repeat offenders one of these (together with a long enough time-out period to break it in properly, of course):

"Thank you for your correspondence. I will give it all the consideration it deserves."

Its time will come! The current reign of Conne the Douche cannot last forever. He's a strong incumbent but the competition will be fierce and there are some heavyweight contenders that may dethrone him.
