Is BOSS Selection worth it at a 40-50% discount?

I have found a "channel" to BOSS Selection (standard, not Tailored line) at 40-50% discount -restricted range of course.

From searching the site I know that SF is generally not BOSS-friendly, but the Selection line is not bad- so my question is: is it worth at about 1/2 price?

PS: I know it is a very generic question but I am happy with generic answers

I like Bruce Springsteen well enough. Some of his music is classic. But I don't think he dresses that great. These celebrity clothing lines are getting kind of tiresome.

Sorry but I think I missed your point.
Are you saying that Selection is a celebrity clothing line? Who's wearing it?

Yes. I have a charcoal Boss Selection suit that I purchased at a Bloomingdale's men's sale for a similar discount. The quality of construction and materials are a noticeable step up from the typical Boss suit. It is one of my favorite suits.

So far I bought three items for myself: blazer, shoes and shirt, and must say the quality seems really good.

The blazer I am not an expert on but seems good and I got solid compliments about it.

Shoes I know about and they are good Italian shoes, i.e., beautiful last, nice upper and solid construction.

The shirt again I am not an expert on but I really like the fit, feel and how it maintains its crispness.

Thus so far so good, but given the heavy anti-BOSS posts over here I would feel warmer inside with some SF-validation, even if Bruce wears it- Guy wrote some great songs

Boss Selection at retail is fairly pricey but I like it. If you can get it for up to 50% off I would appreciate an introduction to your source

I have limited experience with the Boss Selection line because it tends to be too roomy for me. However, from what I own, I can say that the materials are great and the quality is excellent. If you like slim fit clothing like many people on this forum do, then this HB line isn't for you, unless you want to spend a lot of money on a tailor.

I'm not a fan of it myself. The construction is supposed to be okay for the pricepoint when discounted. Apparently, there are 2 different Hugo Boss Selection lines, with one that carries fully canvassed suits and one that carries half canvassed. I forgot how to tell the difference, but I think they are from different countries of origin.

Gilt sometimes carries Boss Selection and I grabbed a suit from there a while back for $850 (I think?), reduced from a "retail" of $1600. I found the quality okay, but the fit was disappointing. As already mentioned, the cut on the suit was more conservative than modern and was very roomy. I had expected a more slim fit (like their red line) and was surprised that it was not slim at all.

I get compliments on my Boss Selection but I'm not crazy about it. Mine actually fits a bit snug but generally OK (although with absurdly tight sleeves) but it just doesn't stand out compared to what you can get for the same money from other labels. No one is going to mistake it for Brioni, that's for sure.

If you can get it for a steep discount then go for it, but I don't think I'd bite again unless it was at least 60% off sticker (which is usually $1400-$1800 IIRC).
