    Why do you want madras?

Are you rowing for Cambridge or Oxford?

Madras looks loud and in your face enough as it is without making it into that patchwork monstrosity pictured. I've never seen this in real life. The only current pictures I've seen of it are blokes in Bermuda with them hideous knee socks. I'm curious what kind of location and event would warrant choosing something like that to wear.

It's an American thing, not unlike their foreign policy - loud, confrontational, in your face, loud, disjointed, a patchwork mess, loud.

beckenstein in NYC has tons of madras patchwork and regular.

this is not bleeding madras. ths fabric was made with chemical dyes and not vegetable dyes of bleeding madras.

real bleeding madras for shirts is available but you will hate it when it is washed and turns everything elsle pink and it shrinks 3" in the sleeve

Lasbar: i bet he can say obnoxious things about your wardrobe.

regular madras is not nearly obnoxious as bleeding madras

My wardrobe is so classic you will collapse with boredom looking at it...

    I'm entitled to my opinion...

I think people look like look at me I'm eccentric trying too hard jerks.

If you can't take the answer, don't ask the question.

i would guess that the OP is early 20's small slim and and into fashion.
he should be able to pull off the look. will he be bored with the jacket in a year or two, when the stylish prep look goes out of fashion. sure. but i would guess he does not want your boring but classic wardrobe.
now if the op is a 30-50 something country club wasp, then he only has to look in his father's/grandfather's closet for the jacket

Right. We've replaced being offensive to our enemies with being offensive to our allies. OT - Madras in this vein makes you look like a tryhard. You will get laughed at in most places.
