I feel sad for people who keep dusty china, silverware, and crystal somewhere in the backroom for "special special special" occasions. The only way I would understand it is if it's something unique, fragile, and has a special value. So I might not pull out a hypothetical antique glass my great grandpa saved during the war every day. Otherwise it's all fair game.

i would rather have great liquor or wine in cheap glass than a soso product in an expensive one, first you buy what you are going to consuem and than with waht is left purchase the way to consume it. Your way seems pretentious and showy.

I want something much nicer. If not Baccarat then maybe Waterford.

If you've never heard of Riedel, I would suggest you put some time into researching glassware before you buy Baccarat. The Sommelier series has only been the reference standard for wine tasting since Claus introduced it in 1973.

I think Baccarat could make a $30 bottle a more enjoyable experience. The way it reflects the light and color and the design.

Please tell me you are not planning to buy a wine glass with a design etched into the bowl.

I`ve had some amazing wine in those little taster cups (like medicine cups?) and it is very difficult to enjoy the wine. I know that`s extreme, but I think the glass makes a huge difference.

Nothing says Grandma quite like those.

Matt's bug water glasses are cool though.

I've seen them in person and they are the most beautiful and elegant design. The light reflects in an amazing way like a golden rainbow. The picture can not capture this.

I cannot explain to you, how much it would bother me to drink a quality wine in one of those.

I'm pretty sure they're $200/pr, not per glass. At least thats what Hamilton Jewelers sells them for, the hand blown ones.

So basically, about the same price as Riedel Som series...except the Riedel is actually designed to drink wine from!

Yeah and you can't see the wine in the glass. Sorry my dude those glasses are terrible. Get Riedel.

i'm not such a fan of led crystal for drinking or decanters. ridel is nice. if you leave scotch in a crystal decanter for a year, the lead content is thousands of times higher than the legal maximum of lead in public water. the decanterd do look so nice though
