Is an olive green 3 piece suit and a lavender shirt okay for business?

I love my lavender shirt with my three piece olive suit and cordovan shoes, but I work in a bank and I'm not sure if this is acceptable. What do you think? I'm a teller but plan on moving up soon.Originally Posted by MattMaggy

Bottom line is if you are the one making the decisions, you can wear anything you like. But if you are soliciting for a business then you get to wear what the person making the decision will find conventional or OK.

I disagree strongly with that sentiment (see sample below), but I would agree that a three-piece olive suit with a lavender shirt in a job where you have regular contact with the general public probably isn't a good choice.
