Is an olive green 3 piece suit and a lavender shirt okay for business?

I love my lavender shirt with my three piece olive suit and cordovan shoes, but I work in a bank and I'm not sure if this is acceptable. What do you think? I'm a teller but plan on moving up soon.

Everything is OK for business depending on which side you stand.\\

If you are the boss, then it is OK.

If you are not the boss, then it is not OK.

Bottom line is if you are the one making the decisions, you can wear anything you like. But if you are soliciting for a business then you get to wear what the person making the decision will find conventional or OK.

So on which side are you?

As I mentioned on the lowest side lol. I'm a bank teller, so point well taken. What about an olive suit period? Like with a white shirt and burgundy tie

I disagree strongly with that sentiment (see sample below), but I would agree that a three-piece olive suit with a lavender shirt in a job where you have regular contact with the general public probably isn't a good choice.

It's a great look in general, but I'm still not sure about wearing it in a teller position.

I'd imagine it all depends on the culture at your job. Does anyone else dress a little foppish? If your boss shows up to work with a pimp cane and tophat, it might be *just* the thing to wear.

An olive green suit needs a white shirt to look appropriate for business.
