    Hi all,

I received my C&J Connaught y'day and wearing it for the first time today.

The V formed by the two quarters atop the tongue (and instep) makes me ask - is this normal at all? Or should they be aligned together without any gap?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Perfectly acceptable, IMO. After a few wearings, leather will stretch a bit, "V" should be even smaller...Even as is right now, it looks OK to me.

They don't look like they are laced up snug even now, so it is hard to tell. But if a new shoe laces up with no gap between the facings on first wear, that's not a good fit. They will never get anything but looser.
