To wear the DJ or not ... that is the question.
Having recently, finally, purchased a black tie outfit for my wedding, I've been looking for other opportunities to wear it. I live in a town of about 80,000 people, sort of in the middle of nowhere. Anyhow, a while back a prestigious symphony orchestra came to town for a concert, so here's a great opportunity to wear the black tie, right?

Okay, it was a great concert. I did get a couple compliments on how well dressed I was. But boy o boy did I feel like a fish out of water. No, its not "everyone else wore suits" ... that would be easy ... these people don't buy their "dress clothes" at the Men's Warehouse, they buy them at Mark's Work Wearhouse.
I don't think I saw any t-shirts, but it came close. A few guys wore suits or jacket-&-pants, some with tie and more without. Mostly it was the sweater-&-chino crowd, or what have you. The women were no better. Ugh.
Now, I don't think that wearing a DJ to a prestigious symphonic event would be incorrect, generally speaking, but I'm sort of thinking that it's a bit too "out there" for this particular little town, and I'd better not count on wearing it many more times, unless I want to spring for airfare to a big city.
