Ironing Board

Anyone have any strong feelings on ironing boards? Is there any real difference between them, or the coverings on them? Any shapes which work better or worse for shirts?

Odd question, but I can't think of a better place to get a proper answer.

Sometimes I iron stuff in the evening. Â And when I get up at 3AM and stumble over the @#%$ thing in the dark on my way to the john, you can bet I have some "strong feelings" about ironing boards. We just have a cheap one from Target...I do think the padding could be a bit better; it's collapsed and the pattern of the underlying grill is now visible. Â How many shapes of ironing boards are there, anyway? Â I strongly suspect pressing shirts will be just as big a pain ********** no matter what kind of surface you use. Â The detailed instructions I pulled off Kabbaz's site really help, though.

I don't know if there are any significant differences, but I gotta admit, I have 'ironing board envy' everytime I see an expensive one.

I have a cheap $10 one from Wal Mart and it sucks b/c it is so light, and the padding is not very fitted. Getting a decent one soon.

I have a cheapish tabletop one with a cotton (I think) cover and it is working fine. And I actually have a sleeve ironing board*, but I will deny owning it if anyone asks. (It is very useful, actually.)

I love my $40 "ultimate" ironing board from Target. It is extra-wide and non-wobbly, and it looks nice.

I am having the same problem with the grill showing up under the pad. I have changed the pad frequently. Problem is it left a grill mark on a brand new mtm shirt!!!

Any suggestions???
