not sure if I'm feeling ben kingsley. I envision the mandarin being a really big giant asian bad ass.

After that trailer...intensity is going to be up a few notches in this one.

Looking bad-ass. Surprised at how much I am liking what they showed in the trailer.

I guess Mandarin was a Capt. America fan as a kid?

Second one wasn't as good as the first but it was entertaining. It felt empty and shallow, kind of like a slightly better version of Michael Bay films. It was pretty much a set-up film for the Avengers to introduce SHIELD (Fury and Widow). I still like the action but that is pretty much the only redeeming factor of the film and seeing War Machine I guess.

I think the second film introduced the other side of being a hero, and that's pretty much sinking to rock bottom. I agree it wasn't the best, but I like how they humanized him a lot more than the first...where he pretty much won at everything.

you say this but i think my chief complaint about any of these movies is that you always know how its gonna turn out: good guys win, bad guys lose. that's what i've liked the best about nolan's batman movies - more layers of nuance.

2nd movie was horrendous. That final fight scene was incredibly anticlimactic.

Only pro's of the 2nd film: Scarlett's boobs and War Machine.

Marvel controlled the 2nd film too much, Favreau has stated several times that he was limited to what he wanted to do and that is why he stepped down from directing the 3rd film and I believe he was offered the Avengers as well but turned that down as well.

Both he and Rourke wanted more depth to Whiplash but Marvel only wanted to set it up for the follow up Marvel films and that is why the film pretty much sucked.

Third one looks too dark... The first was great because it had a great sense of humor and kept it light (despite the very dull and standard boss battle at the end).
