Love the technology, hate the software. A question: We bought our daughter a new computer for Christmas. I want to transfer the songs on her Ipod onto the new computer, but it only transfers the songs on there that she purchased from the Itunes store. It did not transfer the songs she had loaded from CDs she already owns. How can I get it to transfer ALL the songs on her Ipod to the Itunes software?

You can't do it through iTunes. You are going to have to download a software to rip music from the iPod. Search ipod rip on google to find some software.

If you turn on hidden files in windows, then find the iPod in explorer, find the hidden folder (it should be lighter than the others) and find th music library, you can just copy and paste it to your hard drive.

No clumsy software required!

Music Rescue was the ticket. Worked great. Thanks! Another question if I may, I found a great site of Greatful Dead bootlegs, including one of a concert I attended back in 1984. Totally cool. I downloaded it to the Itunes software, but it won't upload to an Ipod, nor will it let me burn a CD. The message when I try to burn a CD is that it will only burn CDs of songs stored on my hard drive.

The songs are on the software and I can listen to them on the computer if I want, but I'd like to burn a CD of it and to get it on an Ipod.

Actually, I've been through this, and if it is a nano, I know you can use it as a hard drive to transfer stuff to a new computer.
