Not bad, but I do think if they go this way with the screen they should make the area on the top and bottom smaller. Even if this means changing the shape of the home button. I don't want my iPhone to be physically that much bigger if they can avoid it.

I don't think they are changing the home button.

I'm starting to believe these 4" rumors. While WSJ and Reuters aren't the voice of God, I believe their sources more than the usual suspect DigiTimes and certainly more than analysts who know nothing more than we do.

I think it's going to be pretty kickass when it comes out this fall. I think Apple will do their best to make the phone as identical as possible with respect to the W and H of the 4/4S.

I'm starting to believe the rumors too on a larger screen. Still thinking it's best to take any rumors about the overall design worth a grain of salt. Last year proved they can often feed upon each other and be completely wrong at the end of the day.

Did you listen to the latest Vergecast? I agree with Josh that if Apple keeps the same overall design, but stretches it out slightly for a larger screen, it will be a disappointment. It would be nice to see Apple try something new.

These rumors are great and all, but what about any rumors on wifi connectivity?

When are they going to start making tablets and mobile phones able to truly connect to dual band routers.

IMO being able to connect to either or a 2.4ghz or 5ghz network isn't good enough, we need it to connect to BOTH networks simultaneously. Especially if Apple is serious about pushing its customers to stream on home networks, which by the looks of AirPlay so far, they are.

They JUST added 5ghz N to the new iPad. I expect it to be a feature on the next iPhone too.

Are you saying you want them to be able to connect to both bands at the same time? I am not sure that's really needed. My iPad 3 gets great speeds connected to my 5ghz N network. The secret is to segment off your devices. Have certain ones connect to the 2.4ghz and others to the 5ghz. Prioritize based on function. Also get a good router. Don't use the ones your broadband company provides.

Yes, both at the same time. You may get great speeds connected to 5ghz, but you'll get even greater speeds connected to 5ghz AND 2.4ghz at the same time.

There are a handful of Windows USB adapters out there, and only ONE pcie adapter that I've found for 300+300. I'm surprised there aren't more out there, since routers are already way faster than that now.

I have a swank new Netgear 300+300 dsl modem/router, but all my devices are 2.4ghz, it aggravates me.

edit: Oh yeah, Windows wifi manager obviously can't connect to two networks at once, looks like these USB dongles have their own software to override Windows and manage the connections itself.

Saw a video a few days ago testing transfer speeds using true dual band, although it wasn't literally 'twice as fast', it was still enough to get me wanting some dongles heh.

Well I am sure the tech will hit cell phones and tablets at some point. For now I am happy with 5gz N.

I'd like to have a tablet and phone that can do that, but, more important to me is getting a set top box. My WD TV is good, but connecting to dual band and gigabit ethernet would make it great.

High quality H264 streams like a dream, but the older Xvid codec is very choppy I've noticed streaming through a home network, even with full bars.

I rarely listen to a full episode. I just tune into the topics I care about via their time stamps.

I vaguely remember Josh's comment. Honestly I'll be perfectly happy with LTE and a 4" screen. If they do anything else with respect to design improvements I'll obviously welcome that too. I'd love to see a curved backing made of something other than glass.

Are you in a home or apartment? If you are in a house/condo and getting a bad connection, even over N, why not wire it with ethernet? Problem would be solved.

I love how the iPhone 4 looks, but do feel it would be nice to see something new. After a while you start to get bored with given designs even if they are some of the best on the market.

Great write-up on the different directions Apple could go in increasing the size of the iPhone's screen. Pros and cons are listed for each and it gives you a good idea why this isn't an easy decision for the company.

I'm in a 2 bedroom townhouse. My set top box is literally right next to my router, but wired is just as laggy as wifi when it comes to Xvid. No Gigabit connection on this WD TV unfortunately :(

And converting 2 TB of video from Xvid to H264 mkv isn't a task I'm keen on starting.

Anyway, WD is notorious for, rather than fixing bugs in firmware for these boxes, just releasing new units every year. I'l probably sit back and drop another 99 on a new model in 2013

Even regular non gigabit ethernet should have more then enough bandwidth to stream HD. I don't think it's a bandwidth problem in your setup.

Probably with the set top with its plethora of bugs.

Anyway, I'm kinda stuck in a hard place now.

I love my iPhone 4....but dislike the iPads, and am now wanting an Anrdoid tablet.

    Why do you dislike iPads?
