Turn by turn, built in, is a big feature and it's been a long time coming as Android has had it for a while. I find most vehicle sat-navs somewhat clumsy and would rather have built into my phone which has an always on internet connection and a fantastic browser. Look something up, click a link and i'm in the GPS on my way to go. It's expected that Google will release a stand along Google Maps App like they did for Youtube now that it's no longer included. If that happens, you can always use that. Apple's going to be behind here for a little while. Completely agree with that. The thing is, a ton of people are going to start using their new maps this week. That means a lot of usage data is going to be collected. This data is used by companies to improve their maps. Apple's will be no exception. In time it will get much better. This guy makes the case that Apple ditching Google Maps is going to really hurt Google in the long run. Most people will use the default app and that's a lot of mobile users to no longer collect data from. Time will tell.
