Turn by turn, built in, is a big feature and it's been a long time coming as Android has had it for a while. I find most vehicle sat-navs somewhat clumsy and would rather have built into my phone which has an always on internet connection and a fantastic browser. Look something up, click a link and i'm in the GPS on my way to go.

It's expected that Google will release a stand along Google Maps App like they did for Youtube now that it's no longer included. If that happens, you can always use that.

Apple's going to be behind here for a little while. Completely agree with that. The thing is, a ton of people are going to start using their new maps this week. That means a lot of usage data is going to be collected. This data is used by companies to improve their maps. Apple's will be no exception. In time it will get much better.

This guy makes the case that Apple ditching Google Maps is going to really hurt Google in the long run. Most people will use the default app and that's a lot of mobile users to no longer collect data from. Time will tell.

Yeah I am going to enjoy the iPhone GPS and see how it compares to the one in my car. And for those on foot it will be very helpful. I remember walking through LA with a group of friends and one guy had the GPS in hand via his iPhone. Was very convenient and cool

I didn't read through this thread so forgive me if this was asked already. Assuming the price is the same, which do you prefer, the Iphone 5 or Droid Razr Maxx?

Yeah kind of ridiculous they are just getting it since android has had it forever for free. Maybe they had some agreement with the GPS companies to try and sell more nav apps.

Most cars don't have sat nav except as some absurdly expensive option--and in those cases you end up spending an extra 1-2 grand on navigation that can't compare to what google provides on android (or the ease of use of a garmin/tomtom unit).

The anodized aluminum around the black version apparently scuffs easily.

Loving iOS 6 with what limited time I have had to play with it. I got my main bitch Siri on my iPad now. I like that the changed up a lot of the aesthetics and color schemes. I feel like I have new iPhone and iPad. :slayer:
