All I can say is I've dropped my phone a few times and have never broken the glass. This is with the ZAGG shield.

Used a screen protector with the iPhone 3G. Never again. Makes the screen less clear and I've never had a scratch going protector-less since.

Also, if you believe this video, and I do, then the iPhone 5 screen should be close to scratch proof.

As for cases, I'm going to get one but only use it in specific circumstances. (Beach, rainy day, etc.) I would like to come up with a DIY way to protect the camera lens and only the camera lens. Apparently the new camera lens is made of sapphire glass, which means it should be very difficult to scratch.

My phone has been dropped (by other people) numerous times and my screen has never shattered, I do not use protection. I think it has to do with where the phone lands.

i have 32 and love it but obviously YMMV. I wanted a big chunk of my itunes library on there since it basically replaced my iPod.

If it's really sapphire glass (and I've also heard that it is), this is unnecessary. Chances of scratching it are extremely small. You don't see people with nice watches adding protection to the sapphire crystal.

    3. she runs a lot and has an amazing physique so I doubt that is going to happen

No I did not and I lost interest in her after that. Her teeth were already bothering me from the start and the eating habits just killed it.

I'm using 17 gigs right now and 9 of it is music and videos. The rest, app data. If you don't plan on syncing much audio or video, then 16 should be big enough. Just keep in mind that podcasts and audibooks tend to be large files and can creep into your storage.

Do you know what apps are using up that data? Seems like a ton of app data...do iPhone apps tend to use more than Android?

how much is being used by apps?

Do you remove the audiobooks/podcasts when you are done listening to them?

I just looked and realized one of the apps is Audible taking up 1.2 gigs. It's not the app itself, but the audiobooks I downloaded to it. Otherwise I have Infinity Blade 2 taking up a gig and the Comixology at about 700 megs. Considering digital comics are basically PDF's that make sense. Nothing else is over 250 megs.
