I don't really want to go back to Apple (a couple of android things that can't be done on the iphone are important to me for work...plus I'd lose all of my paid apps) but I may have to if everyone else keeps fighting the war for the biggest handset.

    5.38"x2.78"? dafuq?

What you are talking about is a tablet with phone capabilities. Not a smartphone.

What makes you think it's not a smartphone with "tablet" capabilities?

Are you retarded? Because it's a fucking tablet. It has a 7.85" screen. It's impossible to put in your pocket, use with one hand. How the fuck is that a phone?

Even Samsung markets the Galaxy Note as a phablet. (Phone + tablet.) And that's a 5.3" screen.

^^ that guy is angry....also for "not a fanboy" it sure seems that 99% of his post history is in Apple threads (Iphone 5, Ipad 3, Iphone 4, etc)

You're a fucking tool. I'm adding you to the block list along with otc. I'm really tired of your snarky messages to me. Actually it's a really smart idea to pre-order the iPhone 5 if you want it. The alternative is a long wait (weeks) if you decide to purchase online even 24 hours after the pre-order starts. The other alternative is to wait in line like a huge loser on the morning 21st.

    Goodbye Piobaire for good.

    I am thinking pre-ordering

iPhone 5 16gb. Thought about just jumping into the smart phone finally and go with the 4S as it seems by a lot of comments here that 5 is not that big of a deal. However, since the 5 16GB is the same price as the 4S model being offered, might as well jump in "blindly" and get the newest and latest, right?

I am way behind in terms of all the technology and spec talks of phones and comparisons so I am just putting my faith in the Apple name.

Random thought but the selling point for me is the glass and aluminum body.

And FWIW, my contract is up and the Samsung model I had SUCKED!

I'd buy the 5. You're going to have it for 2 years so its not like the $100 difference matters much (4 bucks a month for the life of the contract) and since things might get funky with the adjusted screen resolution and new apps, you probably don't want to start out with 1-2 year old technology.

If you've got no idea what you're doing, Apple's definitely the way to go...everything just "works" and its not like you have any preexisting habits or opinions that will trip you up if apples definition of "works" doesn't match what you actually want.

You bring up a valid point. This handset war and race to produce phones with the biggest screens possible is not a good thing. See the Galaxy Note 2 for example. I have often argued that while I can see why people felt the iPhone's 3.5 inch screen was too small, anything much larger then 4 inches and the phone risks being unwieldy. I'm still not sure how I feel about the iPhone 5's widescreen design, but they did have a point about it being easy to hold in one hand in portrait mode during the presentation yesterday.

True. Get the 5. However, I'd be careful to say that he will have it for 2 years. After all, he will look

when he just has an iPhone 5 when the 5s, 5xl, 5xs, or 6 gets released.

No really, +1 to otc. Summed it up well.
