Tokyo Slim is loving the hell out of this thread.

I never thought I'd compare Piob to Katie Holmes, but.......

Here's one of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S. All Things Digital and DP Review have shown that not only is this not an issue with just the iPhone 5. The 4S could demonstrate it as can a variety of cell phones and small point in shoot cameras.

It's got to be the AR coating on the glass over the lens. Anyone with an AR coated watch crystal knows that color!

Here, google image results for "iphone 5 purple haze:"

This is the photo that Mashable took and has been passing around. The problem with it is that the images were not taken at the same angle. Thus it's not a direct comparison.

Yup. That's the article I linked to earlier in this thread. No skin in the game and a much better understanding of the subject then most.

It looks pretty purple on my screen in my camera roll. Make of it what you will.

If your iPhone is showing that as purple then it's definitely a POS. Take it back to the store immediately.

Btw, it rattles too. Not badly, not quite like what Frog reported, but like when I sit it down on my desk or something..just a little rattle.

Ok this thread has taught us that Pio has trouble reading normal sized fonts, needs small portraits to recognize friends names and may be mildly color blind. It's all starting to make sense. ;)

I wouldn't put up with a manufacturing defect like that. Take it in and see if you can have it exchanged.

My iPhone does not seem to like my home wifi network. Is it me?
It sees it, but when I click to join it, it just says "Unable to join network FANBOI." No options, no explanation, nothing. Old iPhone has no problem connecting, even now. I'm posting this from a laptop running on the same network.
Any ideas?

Change the channel of your wifi, change the encryption, choose either tkip or AES. Don't use the n-speed of your router (or have it on the automatic setting) but set it fixed at g or b. One of these should do it. Check your user manual on how to approach the router interface. (specific ip adress with username and password, best tried with a computer on a lan-cable). I don't have an iPhone, but my gf has a 3gs and it was a pain ********** to connect at first.
At the request of AT&T I had to change from their DSL service to U-Verse and get a new router with a new password. My laptop goes to the old address occasionally and I get that message. Have to open network preferences and choose the correct network to join. Have you checked that it is accessing the correct network?

Have you tried removing the settings of your original network, old timer?

I'd check your router firmware. There are often bugs that get fixed and performance enhancements over time from the manufacturer. FWIW, my iPhone has connected to my home router just fine. Never have any issues. I currently have a router from ASUS.

Yes, but we're not talking about your phone/router (settings) situation. Those settings can matter with all sorths of devices, even with an iPhone.
