The bug was only one way. If my secretary or I entered something on our desktops it sync'ed with the handset OTA just fine. It was not a huge problem, but a problem none the less, and I am giving iPhone credit for not having that issue.

Btw, battery is draining fast. My home is not in the LTE covered area and I figure it's being in the LTE coverage today that's draining my battery.

Isn't that like putting a 65 mph governor on your Viper?

well shit. The Mrs. is very unhappy with her htc, unhappy with her iPad, doesn't want the iPhone 5 (which I must admit has me checking her forehead for fever) and says this odd 'Fablet' word at times. Guess I know what she'll be bringing home soon.

hey Piob, how's autocorrect in the iPhone treating you?

the htc/Android autocorrect does a great job of inserting random periods and making me sound extra-stupid.

I much prefer Swype. I looked at the Swype apps and they are all given horrible feedback so it looks like I'm Swype-less for a while.

You're the latest voice to suggest this swype business. Guess I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Hey, when gas is $6 a gallon, sometimes slowing down isn't so bad an idea.

I prefer it $6 a gallon. Less riff-raff on the roads.

maybe that was a poor allegory to use re:battery life.

if you want the battery to last longer, turn off LTE.

    Regarding battery life.

    1. Check your brightness. The higher you set this, the less battery. 45 to 50% is high enough for most people. I do around 60%.

    2. Is your Bluetooth on? If it is and you don't need it to be, turn it off.

    3. Regarding LTE, I would just as soon leave it on. The exception being if I am in an area of a city that I know has no LTE coverage.

If you want to know what kind of life you are really getting, just charge the phone over night. In the morning mark the time you take it off the charger and then use it for the day as you normally would. Don't go out of your way to use it more heavily as this will throw your numbers off. Watching that little meter at the top of the phone like a hawk doesn't do much good. It's just a best guess from the phones software.

Regarding battery life, you also have to be realistic. I won't name names, but in the iPad 3 thread someone was bitching that the tablet didn't last over 9 to 10 hours and that he thought it sucked because of this. The time he was getting was within the range Apple promises users and thus should have been expected. From my experience, Apple's one of the more honest companies out there when it comes to promising battery life. They have even been known to undersell this, on occasion.

I need to try that app out. I'll drink Sbux, but usually go to some of the better alternatives around here. Seems like a cool idea and hopefully more places will start using the software.

I want to hear some reports of people using the United app with Passbook. Having it pull out your ticket when you arrive at the airport seems like it would be useful.

Having an app pull out the coupon or ticket or whatever when you walk into a place sounds CREEPERS to me, thank you very much.

I used Siri for the first time ever this morning, and she was spot on. That worked really well.

I wonder if my color issues are just the "better" screen. I dunno, just some things look more orangey to me.

Will post it later tonight or tomorrow.

Actually, go look at that pic in barware. It might have it. I can't see it through my work firewall.

Edit: I just pulled it up in Safari. Yeah, upper left hand corner of the picture, can't miss it. Runs horizontal from left to about half way through the pic.

Pio and you other upper echelon execs, do you utilize the different color/category feature in outlook for your calendar? I currently have a 5 different colors (family, personal, work, FD, school) but I think I may be overdoing it. But it does look nice. lol

Is Mrs. T up to speed with technology? (serious question and not meant as an insult) My sister in law isn't and she would always ask me questions about the her android phone, so I decided to give her an iPhone when it came out for Verizon and she no longer bugs me.

Is there a reason why she is against the iPhone?

I don't like to text but I am able to text without looking now. The keyboard isn't that bad, but if your are composing emails I can see how it can be a pain.

like you said earlier, their marketing helps them almost as much as it hurts them. I still hear people claim their macs are immune to viruses.

What happens when flying with more than one person and you want to pull up their e-ticket? I know the delta app lets me do this, how about passbook. (I use this when traveling with my mother or niece/nephew)

    was it a dicature?
