There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

We can argue all day on this, but I don't care that much. :)

Honestly, I don't see the need to do it. A lot of the old jailbreak "features" can be done on the iPhone by default these days. Multitasking works and we now have a half decent notification system. I have zero desire to steal from a bunch of App developers and side-load their work onto my device for free, so that's not a selling point for it either. The big thing I might care about is tethering, yet I get by without it.

Well its not about arguing. I'm right and you're wrong. And its not about theft. There are just a whole host of new and interesting things you can get the phone to do through jailbreaking. Real timesavers and tweaks that just make it a more pleasurable experience.

People fuck up their iPhones in the jail-breaking process. It can and does happen. I don't believe the risk is "minor," but I am not saying it's "major" either. Take that for what you will.

Most people I know that have jailbroken their phones did it for one of three reasons. FLASH support, tethering or the ability to download apps for free. Those were the main reasons, for them. I'm glad that you are not using it to steal apps, but lets not pretend it's not out there in force.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely stealing apps. But them I'm buying them if I like them.

So I pre-ordered my iPad 3 online and chose to pick it up at the store on the 16th -- do they reserve these pick ups for their customers so that you're guaranteed to get one?

I didn't realize this, but Verizon has a 1gig plan for $20 a month. That's not bad at all and just the right amount of data for casual use on the go.

I would think so because you've already paid for it. I also considered this option, but didn't want to stand in line on the 16th to get mine.

Wouldn't I be able to just skip the line, walk right in, and pick up my iPad?

Surely, they wouldn't make me wait in line with all the people who haven't preordered,..

I don't know for Apple but it's like that on video game releases so it very well could be. I know because a friend waited for CoD and he had to wait, even though he pre-ordered, and there were tons of people buying it at the release.

It means you have one reserved. You can go at any point and pick it up. I would wait till mid to late day so the lines have had a chance to settle down a little. Your line will go a lot faster then those camping out to by one in the store that day. Don't stress over it.

    Sounds good, guys, thanks.

I just realized I probably didn't need to buy the 4G iPad. I have a 4G Verizon hotspot device provided by my company.. I could just use that all the time instead of paying for my own data :plain:

    Oops.

You don't have to pay a monthly fee if you don't want to. It just won't work if you don't. Main thing is you would be out the $130, up front. So you need to ask yourself how much you can depend on having this 4G hotspot at all times of need or not. If you can depend on having it around, then save the cash. If not, then it might be worth it.

Two inexpensive stands for the iPad I found.

This one can be had for $30 shipped from Amazon and it's PRIME eligible: http://www.elagodesign.com/english/index.html. I like that much better then Apple's stand and it's around the same cost.

If you need a simple stand to put on your coffee table or toss in your bag, this would do nicely. Super cheap and lightweight: http://www.groovystand.com/
