Hi all,

I am 62 years old, never had much fashion sense, but have lost 40 pounds and am ready to put some effort into looking nice for certain occasions. I work from home and travel , and when I'm on the road it's jeans and a polo shirt as I am a field engineer for a telecommunications company and my customers are all engineering folks. So no need for work suits.

I hope to ask some questions here to guide me in my quest to assemble a decent basic wardrobe. I hope they won't be too basic or stupid, so please bear with me. I pretty much have to be told how to dress. My Mom worked at Lewis & Thomas Saltz and Brooks Brothers in DC during the 70s and 80s, but I never really was interested in suits back then, so some of this is new territory or me.

Thanks in advance for indulging my basic questions.
