Haha... you guys use foam or creme on your face when shaving? What are you, metrosexuals?

I shave with a rusty peice of a tin spagetti-o's can. If anything is used to help lubricate or make the hairs stand up, its either used motor oil or nothing.

Pansies.

How old-fashioned. I have no patience for you fussy "purists" who insist on using archaic methods when an electric drum sander will do a superior job in a fraction of the time.

I watched those videos a few weeks ago and then bought a Merkur HD razor, trumper's rose cream and super badger brush and my skin is so much better on my face and neck. Double Edge razors really are great.

That reminds me of that anecdote about the imprisoned Dr. Faustus. He convinced his hirsute jailor to release him in exchange for an elixir that would save him the trouble of shaving. Hydrochloric acid.

I recommend the video from The Art of Shaving (http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos/videos.php click on the 4 elements of the perfect shave).

I have thick facial hair and I used to have a really hard time with electric razors all my life. The times I tried wetshaving it just didn't do it.

Then I started following the advice in this video with the hot water, pre-shave oil, and a good shaving creme and man, oh, man... what a difference! Now I have a baby-smooth face (for a few hours anyway--I'm like Homer Simpson).

I'll have to check out the YouTube videos and see how they compare (can't do that right now--I'm at work!)
