Gentlemen,

I have been reading the forum for a good few days now with some interest. I had no idea such a wealth of information could be found in one place.

I'm 45 and a mature law student from North Wales. I've been trying to spruce up the old wardrobe and found nowhere to be as informative as this forum.

Which bring us to my problem. Overcoats are my weakness. I have a few. However, I don't have 'the one'. The one I've been after for nearly eight years.

I've attached a link to an auction for the closest thing I've seen. I appreciate this may be frowned upon but I know of no other way to show you the photos.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The auction refers to a wool cashmere single breasted overcoat in green.

This is the closest thing I've ever found to what I'm looking for, which essentially is what you see there in navy blue without the pleats at the back. The larger lapels and that style lapel strikes a chord with me.

I take a 46S for my suit jacket so if anyone, on seeing those photos, can think of just the thing for me then I would appreciate it very much if you could point me in the right direction.

Many thanks,

Pete J

I have found that if I have something very specific in mind, I usually must have it produced bespoke or MTM. If you can find a good local tailor this is sometimes fairly affordable (as opposed to inquiring at Saville Row or a high end manufacturer like Oxxford in the US). On several occasions I have found wool I wanted at a discount and brought it to the tailor, which also reduces cost.
