Hi everyone, I'm Seb, and in the last couple weeks I've started getting interested in classic style. Because of Covid, I had some free time to watch youtube videos. For the first time in my life I've realized I didn't need to wear what my wife was buying me!
I'm a college professor so classic style rather suits me (tweed jackets, elbow patches, bow ties, corduroy pants), even though this feeds into the stereotypes! Outside of work I have an interest in history and hiking. I'm planning to visit all the US states at some point... Only done 10 so far, long way to go!
Hi Seb, you should wear what you want to wear. I hope that we can assist you in your sartorial endeavors going forward. Welcome to the forum!

Hello, A couple years ago I was advised I needed a good suit to wear to a dinner where my wife would be receiving a performance award from her employer. The dinner would be in Edinburg and her employer was flying us there and we would be taking part in a week of various activities. My Duluth workwear was not going to cut it. Anyways that set me off exploring how to dress a little better and I've ended up here. It's been fun.

Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy and I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. I am a graduate student on the East Coast of the US generally interested in garments that make use of heavy fabrics, both in texture and in weight, though these interests unfortunately don't align well with the weather we are experiencing, as usual, in August. Some brands I look to for style inspiration are Iron Heart, SEH Kelly, and John Lofgren. Glad to get my first post out of the way, and thanks for reading!

Hello everyone, my name is Chris. I’m from Maryland (DMV) area. I’m a sneakerhead, now interested in getting into the quality dress shoe game. I’m also interested in any quality shoe cobbler recommendations in the DMV.

Hello! I'm Derek and I live in Michigan. I am a relatively new GYW nerd, which has turned into a casual interest in denim and a general overhaul of my whole wardrobe. Looking mostly to improve my overall style and keep my eyes peeled for some quality footwear.

Good afternoon everyone,

My name is Armand, I'm a French-American 26 y-o Roman history student currently completing my masters degree in ancient economic history. I love playing chess, Roman military historical reenactment and cooking, I never really cared about my wardrobe and fashion until very recently when I realized the power it has to change my life upside down. In theory, I lack self-confidence but I concluded that if I took care of my health, my presentation and my dresscode, it would send a more positive image to others and in return, they may take me more seriously just as I willl take myself more seriously. My main project in life is to do a PhD in Roman history and be able to study in Italy and enjoy the Dulce Vita. I think that working on my style is an essential part of this journey and will help me become a more independant adult because I would have been working to earn my suits and accessories.

I have joined this forum because it has been heartly recommended and I'm expecting to find guidance and meet others who are undergoing similar changes as I do.

Thank you for reading and I wish you a wonderful day !
