Hi folks! My name is Jacob Nikolau and I first started reading/lurking on the forum 5 or more years ago. I might have even set up an account using my long defunct high school email address back in the day. I don’t really have much occasion for formalwear/business attire- so I can’t participate much on the threads on bespoke suits. I’m also quite satisfied with the fit, fabric and price of off-the-rack T.M. Lewin and CHT shirts for workwear, and I haven’t yet found myself in need of exotic colors, fabrics, accents, or mother of pearl buttons.

I’m on here mostly to read the discussions about men’s shoes, outerwear, and sweaters/cardigans. The proprietor over at vcleat.com showed me the world of (affordable!) vintage American shoes. This forum helped me find Orinda Shoe Services (when I was a student at a nearby university), B. Nelson, and McFarland Shoe Repair (particularly talented with a pair of vintage Florsheims). Along with ask Andy About Clothes and r/goodyearwelt, thanks for the education on finding and caring for high quality used footwear (G&G/JL/Florsheim/Alden/Viberg/etc).

I have yet to find a vendor of raglan sleeve quarter/half zip wool sweaters with ribbed sleeves, so if you stumble across one that’s priced within the realm of reason for a recent college graduate, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Looking forward to learning more from the forum.
