I'm a mixed bag of tastes sometimes I'm a fussy pedantic sartorial connoisseur focused on quality and craftsmanship and tradition of how things should be adorned, but a lot of times I'm also a brand whore wearing a big ol gucci belt and gucci loafers and sunglasses with my shirt unbuttoned. It really depends on the situation/day and my mood. Either way I'm confident in what I wear but I'm here to just talk about shoes since I just recently started to get back into it. I left shoes about 15 years ago when I was heavily into santoni, lobb, vass, eg, et al

There’s nothing wrong with having mixed bag. Imo, embrace your ‘inner’ sense & desire for a diverse ensemble. I agree with you that mood, day, (perhaps time of day?) & importantly the situation are all factors in helping to determine the sartorial choices that one makes. It can be as has been said that ‘variety is the spice of life’. There are many threads here that are shoe-centric. Please feel free to join these discussions. Welcome

Lump here, long time lurker first time member/poster!
I’m in Scottsdale, AZ, married with 2 preteen kids (pray for me)…
I’m a little older, got a late start on the family dealio.

I had bariatric surgery a few years ago and lost a ton of weight, and in the last several months I’ve kicked up my healthy eating and exercise to try and keep up with, and be around long term for my kids. Consequently my body is in a bit of a state of flux, and with fat residing wherever it darn well pleases, it can be tough to find stuff that fits well, though the more I lean out that part is getting better. I don’t have a ton of money for clothes, but that doesn’t stop me from looking, or trying to find things to buy (yay for having Last Chance in town!), or reading Derek Guy’s posts all the way thru - cause that’s free!

I stepped up my reading on here as I’ve got a huge event in late April, my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah, and will need a slightly conservative, though sharp looking, suit for the morning, and either a suit or sports coat for the evening party (what do guys wear to these things anymore????). So if anyone has advice on what to look for, where to go, etc., let me know!

Looking forward to interacting on here, thanks!

Hello Gentlemen,
I am rural living Scandi, but in close proximity to an urban stronghold (aka. capitol). Like to dress reasonably well. Like shoes, sunglasses and watches more than tops and bottoms. Prefer classic style rather than fashion and/or street wear.
