Hey everyone! Im Alex and Im 25 years old, living in Istanbul!

I decided to join in after keeping an eye on this site for a while. I'm a guy that started working in the men's apparel industry a few years ago. Personally, I like to dress casually for the office, but like most of us here I do enjoy dressing up as stylishly as possible when the mtm Italian starts whispering to my ear every morning when I open the door of the closet :)

Mostly here to follow the opinions about the current trends on men's apparel and improve my still-amateur knowledge of the industry.

Have fun!

31 year old guy in Bay Area - California just trying to find a good suit. I've been a browser on this forum for a while but never posted or purchased anything yet, but hoping to change that soon. This seems to be the best place online for a quality forum on men's wear. I really enjoy the reviews and feedback on all the different manufactures.

I would be open to a store, but most likely online. And probably used, but in good shape to keep the costs down. I know it may require more tailor work, but hopefully the price will still be cheaper and higher material quality than purchasing new at a store.

I'm not familiar with online stores that sell used clothing. You should realize that buying good quality used merchandise might require tailoring. Depending upon the vintage of the used garments the tailoring might be significant and require a full recut of the slacks, suits, sport coats, etc., in which case you would save money buying decent quality contemporary new clothing.

Ponyo44, I've included some links, information regarding purchasing your first suit (applicable to getting started purchasing suits) and two recommendations for two online stores that sell high quality new clothing at affordable prices. I hope that this proves to be helpful. :>)

Hello everyone, I'm Brad from Windsor Ontario Canada. I've been hooked on vintage dress shoes since my yuppie office days... these days I am home with my kids while the S.O. works, and I collect and sell vintage, exotic and other odd dress shoes in my spare time. My biggest interests are in the vintage Canadian shoe brands Dack's, Hartt and McHale shoes, especially some of their exotics from the '60s-'80s (antelope/kudu, seal, shark, crocodile, camel, water bison, prairie oxhide, kangaroo, peccary, zebu, etc.).

I have been around the site for years but never bothered to register, figured it was time. There is a ton of good info on the shoes I collect here, and I figured I could share back some of what I know regarding restoration of very old, neglected leather and exotic hides.

My personal closet isn't what it used to be, but I'd probably feel overdressed in my pinstripe khaki Jack Victor suit and my 40-year-old tiger shark derbies for parent teacher interviews... Once the youngest hits school it'll be back to the office, and I'll be able to justify my shoe collection again :)

My personal treasures are Tiger Shark Foot Joy Norwegian toe derby, NOS Dack's Bespoke Grade cap toe, and union-made in USA Executive Imperials by Mason wingtips; people have given me a hard time for my love of the Executive Imperials... they were an entry-level welted shoe... but the rise of cut of the vamp at the side of the shoe is exquisite... it is the best cut on any wingtip... oh, and I am a wingtips guy.
