Boots that fit, welts that last, and cleaning tips. Well, you've come to the right forum. Welcome aboard!I've browsed through a few sections here for tips before, but never really figured I had any reason to introduce myself. And yet, here I am! Hi.
I think it's great how many different interests are represented here. I really deeply understand how it is to care about the details of something in a way almost no one else understands, which is why I don't feel bad about not knowing or caring much about most of the sections here. We all have our stuff, and I know what I'm here for: boots, heritage workwear, and maybe once in a while tips for if I actually have to clean myself up and go someplace nice.
I'm an electrician. I spend most of my time in work clothes and while I like to buy nice stuff, it's gonna get thrashed. Really nice workwear is my style but there's no way I'm taking my perfectly worn-in tin cloth to a rail jobsite where they're gonna get creosote tar on one leg and fiberglass in the other in the same week. I also can't afford to do much fashion, so I gotta make it count.
Anyhow I ended up here because I went down the r/goodyearwelt rabbit hole looking for boots that would actually fit my feet and last a while, and accidentally developed a crippling quality footwear addiction. Whoops. You get it. Seeing custom makeups that folks put together, being able to compare makes and how they wear... it's pretty cool.
Hello Christian, welcome to the forum!Hi, I’m Christian and I’m new here. Big shoe lover; my latest order is my first pair from TLB, and I’m going to be very interested to see how they stand up against the brands I most often buy, such as Crockett & Jones. Pretty excited by that elegant waisting!
Hi, boots & clothing that will wear well on the road is very general. What kind of boots & clothing are you looking for? Welcome to the forum!New member/longtime lurker here. I recently moved from Florida to the DC area, so the wardrobe needs a bit of an overhaul. I'm also interested in putting together a minimal capsule wardrobe of well-made clothing & boots that can survive long stints on the road. Recommendations for a good tailor around DC would be appreciated!
Welcome aboard!Hey everybody!
I'm Vestīmenta Optimae, an almost-30-year-old guy from Canada's east coast. I work in sales and I'm an amateur lover of classics, hence my username being in the not-as-dead-as-you-think language of Latin. I cut my teeth in selling menswear, and I've been obsessed with it every since. I look forward to learning more from your collective experience and knowledge!
Zachary, welcome to the forum!Hello, my name is Zachary. I've browsed through this forum occasionally over the years but never made an account. I used to post on r/malefashionadvice fairly regularly but I haven't been as active over the last 2 years. I live in the Midwest and have my associate's in Fashion Design. I managed a menswear boutique called Vincent Outfitting, we went out of business in summer of 2020 as a result of the pandemic so now I'm studying to be a web developer. Hoping to maybe post a few outfits, read some good fashion theory discussion, get some brand recommendations, and participate in the BST threads. I'm big into slow fashion, my favorite brand is Story MFG, and I love natural dyes, indigo, and raw denim (I have a couple pairs of LVC, RGT, 3Sixteen that I fit into before quarantine happened lol).
