I am a South African who is addicted to elegance and style. My name is Bruce and currently working in The Netherlands. I guess my addiction with elegance is a sign of going through midlife crisis as I will turn 57 in August

Hello Patrick, welcome to the forum.Good day Gents,
My name is Patrick and I'll be going by the handle of Enfusia.
After years of paying through the nose for bespoke suits, shoes and shirts I've decided to start my own made to measure (MTM) company that will launch in about year.
I'm truly passionate that one day I'll be able to bring hand made garments to the masses (or at least to the small percentage of the masses with taste).
I'm not looking to do regular MTM, I'm looking to create real, hand made and truly bespoke suits and shoes.
As an example: I have a small warehouse full of vintage fabrics and factory bolts of fabrics that were single runs or one of a kinds that aren't made any more.
I'll make those available on a true bespoke purchase only to make your suit(s) from. I.E. You buy the bolt or speak for (purchase) a section of that fabric and it's yours for us to make what you will from it.
I'm NOT advertising my company, I'm not even telling you the name of it yet.
I'm just letting you know the level of my passion for this niche.
I'm here to learn and to help others to do the same when I can.
Thank you, Patrick
Umberto, wishing you good health, welcome to the forum!Hi all, Umberto here from NJ.
Quick history about why I'm here. At age 49 married and blessed with a 2 yr old, I had a major brain stem stroke 2 years ago, was confined to a wheel chair with numerous deficits including no balance, double vision, loss of sensation in part of my body..etc. I worked very hard in rehab vowing to make serious progress and not feel sorry for myself, and I did just that. I basically turned my life around after being out of work (visual design) for 6 months, with a lot of research about how to reduce inflammation so I wouldn't have to go through something like this ver again. I started eating clean whole foods and made lifestyle changes that allowed me to lose 60 lbs bringing me to 6'2" and 205lbs, close to the best shape I was in 30 years ago. I can walk and swallow normal and my eyesight has returned to 90-95%. I still have other deficits as a result of the stroke, the list is pretty long, but I have come a long, long way.
In celebration of my weight loss I had to buy all new clothes, so I figured why not buy 'nicer' fitted clothes now that I was so much better shape. Well, I have become obsessed about adding fitted sport coats, trousers and dress shirts to my wardrobe, and I've been a regular at a local tailor in town because I love how tailored clothes look and feel. Everyone at work dresses very casual, in contrast I always am well-dressed just because I want to be. You'll find me in a sport coat, dress pants, tie, oxford shoes and I'm never without button end braces of which I have amassed quite the collection of. I still get confused looks at work, but I absolutely love being well dressed. I feel it gives me added confidence especially when out in public.
So there you have it, a major health crisis is the reason I ultimately became interested in this great forum and look forward to continue to learn from everyone here.
Thanks, I appreciate it.Umberto, wishing you good health, welcome to the forum!
Hello Caner, best of luck with your thesis and best wishes for your young family. Welcome to the forum!Hi, I'm Caner from the Netherlands. I've been reading discussions and tips for years now and I thought it's time to make an account. I'm 30 years old, owner of an online shop in exclusive menswear (almost 5 years now), student Master of Science in Business Administration (still "writing" my thesis now for 3 years). Besides my work and being a "student", I am married and have a son of 1.5 years old.
I hope to further expand my knowledge and experience via this forum. I would also like to share my experience and knowledge with you.
