What are the appropriate colors for an interview suit? Would a black suit with a subtle white pinstripe be acceptable?
    Thanks

Only if you are interviewing for the mob. Check the archives by searching for "interview." There are a few hundred threads on the topic of interviews, I think.

    Short answer: charcoal, navy.

Yes, one of the most common threads in my short time here.

To save you a search : charcoal or navy are the answers, especially for conservative businesses.

For the more arty creative fields you might get away with it.

A search will really help you see the discussions.

Get something that will be useful for years. Moderately dark grey (charcoal)l, with a self pattern in herringbone would be great. If you choose something with a stripe, be easy on the color differences.

Navy definitely. And I'd go for a warmer grey than charcoal.

Solid gray, any shade from medium to charcoal. Navy second, if you don't have gray. Patterns only if you have no solids.

http://www.masquerademaul.com/images/Zoot_Suit.jpg is a good example of appropriate interview attire if you want to go with the stripe.

yea, that looks about right - I was thinking maybe some gold pinstripes though, to really set it off
