1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

So you had a floppy-drive on your C64 then. I wasn't rich enough to afford such luxuries. '?LOAD ERROR' was normal for me and 'R Tape loading error 0,1' kind of became the story of my life as well.

oh we were so excited the day we got the floppy drive. We'd gone from Vic20 to C64 to disk drive within the space of a year. All of a sudden the world was our oyster.

First time I saw someone "chatting" was in '94 at a library in my Uni. Very crude DOS-esque format

ICQ. I remembered my number up 'till recently. Met my wife there and a couple of friends from different countries, two of them I still correspond through email and FB.

    IRC rooms.

Free soft porn sites and local internet gossip related to the girls that "posted their pics" there.

Checking at my comp on 12/31/99 by midnight to see if it crashed with the Y2K """""""""bug""""""""".

Porn sites that made you "vote" for their site 3 times on top 100 lists before you could access the goods.

    Hentai was all the rage

Awful "Britney Spears" porn that was just her face photoshopped onto some pornstars body. (funny how the skin tones didn't even match up half the time)

    Winamp

    Angelfire websites

Sharing images on AIM became available

I miss playing Gunfright on my Amstrad 464.

Also proper jopysticks that were like the ones in fighter planes,a big black phallic handle with a fire button on the front of it, not the little fiddly little things used today. They used to have suckers on the bottom for sticking to the table, absolute awesomeness. Remember the screeching noise those games used to make whilst uploading from the cassette? The 80's was a great decade!

The Millennium Falcon level in Star Wars: Rebel Assault was impossible without one of these.
