Hello,

A local men's store has their annual sidewalk sale today, Friday, and Saturday. They have some decent prices, and nice merchandise. I am thinking about picking up some of their stock to re-sell on ebay, and to you guys. I want to see how much of an interest there is, so I know how much to get. I don't think they take returns. I'll only pick up things in pleasing patterns and colors. Feel free to move this after it gets some replies; I just posted it here because I don't know how many members actually look at the Buying & Selling forum. So I'd appreciate it if you could leave it in here for a little bit.

This is what I saw:

- Zegna ties originally priced $125+
- Corneliani ties priced at $110+
- Tina Cosmo (sp? can someone please correct me) ties priced at $95+

- Aquascutum shirts priced at $95+ (many had fabric patterns just like T&A/H&K)
- Corneliani shirts priced at $180+
- Some Zegna shirts

I'd sell the ties at $35 shipped, which i'm really only making a few bucks on. Hopefully, they'd sell for more on ebay, but I want to offer some here at a lower price.

The shirts range, but it looks like most likely $40-65

They also had some Jhane Barnes slacks. All items will be NWT.

One last thing - Lorenzini shirts all priced at 50% off from last season. Still pretty expensive.

Sorry - don't mean to steal your business. Don't worry, we're not even close to being in the same league.

I might be interested in a couple of ties, depending on what is available of course.

I'd be mostly interested in the Tino Cosma ties - and Aquascutum shirts, if there are some bold patterns.

no, not that i thought you were competing, not at all, i just thought those prices were too high to take a gamble on. there are a lot of zegna ties on ebay and i've had some and didn't sell them for 35, also zegna shirts are all over the place, and i once had some corneliani items that i took a loss on. that was just my opinion on the gamble

Yeah, I'm kind of realizing this...it's not really worth it to pick up something that costs $25 to make a small profit on. I'm thinking about stopping down there today, and asking what they do with the merchandise that doesn't sell. I'm hoping that he'll let me purchase some of the unsold merchandise at the end of the sale at a lower price than it already is. Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?
