I'm thinking about producing some private label bi-color knit ties, and selling them for $50. They would be made in Italy by a manufacturer who supplies many of the top brands around the world. I wanted to check what the interest level on this would be, however, before I put in a big production order. Ties would be about 2.75" wide and made out of a crunchy silk.

Also, any color combinations you'd be interested in? Should the back blade be kept in the same bi-color combination, or made solid like the one shown below?

(Note, the picture attached is of a Drake's bi-color knit, not the one I would be creating. I'm attaching it here only as a reference).

I would love these if they had a triangular end.

Color combos that look good with navy or gray should be your first pics.

I'd do several with a chocolate brown and several with a charcoal gray. Something like orange and brown, purple and charcoal, bright blue and brown, medium blue and charcoal, etc. etc.

I quite like bi-colour knits. I have a couple - a navy and white, and a charcoal and light grey.

My recommendations would be to start with staples like the above. Also, offer the option of a square or triangle end.

I might be able to do a MTO program as well, but people would have to pre-pay and delivery time would take about two months (I'm working with Italians here). You could then choose your colors, pointed or square end, contrasting or matching back blade, etc. Any interest in that?

I want my own non B&S sales thread

Yikes, sorry. Should I have put this in the B&S side of the board? Mods can obviously move this over if it's more appropriate there.

Would the MTO program offer choice in widths and lengths?

If the option opens up for choosing colored dots, I am totally in.

I prefer the solid ones more than the bi-color.

I´d be interested in a blue-brown combination - and solid (brown?) back I believe Gallo makes a fairly expensive version that Guido wore some time ago.

This is one of the funny situations we fall into because we didn't properly account for all situations when creating our new B&S system. The is really no good format for this type of polling by private members (as opposed to commercial entities, who get to pay to create theads like this.) Since Derek is our boy, I'm going to let this one go as a test scenario, and see if we can't think of some protocols for this type of thing.

Cheers,

Fok.
