I've been using them for years without getting burned, and they make cooking a lot faster. In January, when my water heater broke, and I was without hot water from the faucet for 2 months, (long story) I relied on my instant hot for washing all my dishes.

I have one like these and it's incredibly convenient. The idea of instant boiling tap water in comparison is just... odd, and seemingly much more dangerous.

Well, it is from a separate tap, so it's much more like the countertop models you have seen, just hidden away under the sink.

My parents have one in their house and it is convenient. The tap is not like a normal tap, it looks like the top of a bottle where you need a firm grip and twist. A child probably wouldn't be able to twist it. But we stopped using it for consumption because the hose that went through the heater was rubber and it didnt seem all that good for our health. But we still occasionally use it when we need to heat up the ice cream scooper

I have this too. It is a great thing to keep around, but it does add clutter to the counter like someone else said.

We have one at work and it is absolutely one of the most useful things in our breakroom.
