Installing a new ceiling light--a quick question for those with experience

My fixture has two bulbs in it and hence two sets of white and black wires. My box has white, red, and green. I'm assuming white to white and red to black with the greens as the ground. No problem there. But can I connect both black (white) wires from the fixture to the one red (white) wire from the ceiling? Is that kosher?

Thanks,
b

Seems to me you don't have many other options. That said, that's how I've done it.

ETA: from a techinical perspective you're wiring two parallel mini-circuits - one for each bulb - which is pretty common. ALSO...I had the benefit of examining the previous fixtures I've replaced which were also wired that way.

You can connect as many live wires to the live feed as you like...you are only limited to not overloading the circuit (which light bulbs are not going to do), and the size of the wire nuts to connect them. (same goes for neutral)
