I believe that's an F-4 Phantom. They didn't have F-14s yet. Those pictures are from 1967??? He was an Aviation Boatswains Mate, which is the guy who hooks the aircraft up for launch and parks them on the flight deck. He has some crazy videos of him under the jets as they take off and the force of the exhaust making him slide a couple feet across the deck.

Now I'm all growed up and joined and work on aviation electronics. Hopefully a legacy will be started.

I wish I felt like I could pull something like this off without looking like a tool, its dapper as hell, but would feel so out of place in the circles i run around in. It is Edward R Murrow by the way.

It's more a matter of age and life experience than of the social circles one belongs to, I think. Nearly every man in his twenties or thirties (and often forties) I have seen attempting to pull of such attire has looked ridiculously contrived.

These are not the most groundbreaking looks in the world, but they are without a doubt influencing what I wear on a daily basis, and what my future purchases will be, so for that I think they are worth posting.

Hahah. No, I think they are just really good friends, which makes sense as they have a similar aesthetic in their own lines (that is Phillip Lim and Richard Chai btw), plus they are both Asian-American fashion designers working out of NYC.
