Hi I'm looking for an inexpensive pair of khakis for a business casual environment. I'm a student and I'm looking to attend information sessions that require business attire. I'm fairly new to dressing businessy but I'm looking for a contemporary cut. There is a 25% off BB and I looked on the site and couldn't differentiate or choose which khakis are suitable. There are so many types like chinos and trousers and wool and flannel. Thanks for the help.

Edit: what color dress shirts match kahkis well? Should I stick with black belt and tie or go wig something else?

J Crew Classic Fit (their slimmest cut).

If you're in NYC, Uniqlo Vintage Khaki is another good choice.

Flat front if you're in good shape, pleated if you're not.

Brooks Brothers Advantage chinos are a pretty decent option. You can get them on sale in the $50 range or a bit less, and the Clark fit are FF with a decently slim fit. The fabric is nice and heavy and doesn't wrinkle much.

Definitely agree. Bought a pair this summer and I've been trolling the sale section of their website for another. Actually, I believe they're on sale for around $20-$30 depending on the color.
