Awesome to hear! I'll be checking the site daily. I did see some sport coats at very attractive prices, ~$250
Pretty sure Spier and Mckay have a lot of suits available now at real cheap prices. They are doing a liquidation sale and prices are down to like $200. Not sure how you aren’t finding them.

check Charles tyrwhitt too. Similar quality, slim fit might be even better for you. Reasonable prices.

Hours after I posted that reply the liquidation sale went live. For how highly S&M is regarded on this forum, suits starting at $180 seems insane... how long do these sales usually last, and how often do they usually liquidate?

The sleeves may be half an inch short to my eyes. To some degree showing a bold amount of shirt sleeve is fashion however. I actually like showing 1/4 inch (my tailor prefers 1/8 inch) but I wouldn't go much further than that.

When you budget for your next suit I would recommend putting aside about US$50-75 for alterations.

It's always better to buy a slightly cheaper suit and alter it to your size than buying a slightly more expensive suit that doesn't fit optimally.

That US$50-77 can even make a $200 suit look like a £1000+ suit in the hands of a good tailor.
I'm hoping with some alterations my tailor can fix this suit up to fit me much better. He says he can save it. He is lengthening the sleeves, opening the waist of the jacket, and lowering the collar because that was causing wrinkling on the back as well. I should have it back by Feb 4th or sooner, I will post photos and update!

really just take theplunge and buy one.
Those prices are fantastic. Spier McKay, Charles tyrwhitt, usually you will be in the $300-400 range for those suits. Most of the year you can find SM at about 20% off retail (or at least during covid they were running those sales a lot). But this was frequent.

check the fabric details. The GSM is the weight. Higher number heavier the weight of the material.
I do have some lower gsm ones (I live in the tropics) and I find they wear quite well.

veteran move: buy an extra pair of trousers with the pants. Look at the suit model number, then Go to dress pants and match it up by model number. That way you have 2 pants in the rotation. Will make the suit last a long time.

Alright, I just bought their light gray heather suit and I'm really excited about it. Everyone here seems to really recommend S&M and for the price I couldn't pass it up. $187 shipped. I'll be making a post when it arrives!
