Indigo denim w/ dark tops? Can it work?

So before coming to this site, almost all my jeans were light washed and distressed. I've picked up a pair of raw indigo denim last week, and love them. Completely hooked!

Now, the problem I have, is since a lot of my jeans were light, a lot of my sweaters and t-shirts are dark.

I'm wondering if I can still wear, say a navy blue t with my raw jeans.

Another question: Are their any colours that I shouldn't wear with indigo?

It depends on the shade of the indigo.

In general, indigo is a neutral colour and most dark colours work very well with it - black, charcoal, brown, etc. Dark blue is a bit more tricky and I find that some shades do not work with my jeans. Also, some jeans have a noticeably green or purple shade of indigo, which will change the way it looks with other colours.

Try things and trust your eye.
