These questions are about Oliver Peoples, Persol, Maui Jim, and other higher end sunglasses. I currently wear Oakley's everyday for work because of the ANSI rating, and am looking to get something more stylish for every day wear. All answers or opinions are greatly appreciated!!
1. Are the tint, polarization, and anti-reflective all coatings on the
outside of the lens on top of the glass? Or are they inside the lens? I am
wondering this because I am looking for something that is very scratch
resistant and I feel like coatings would be very susceptible to scratches.
And if I were to get a slight scratch I would be able to sand it out on an
uncoated glass surface.
2. How do you tell the light transmission % of each of the sunglass lenses.
3. How do you know if the lenses are glass or plastic?
4. Are replacement lenses available for any of these brands?
