Last week, a few of us in Hong Kong got together and shared our collection of time pieces by independent watch makers. Note the slight biased towards F.P. Journe.

Some very exotic pieces.

Here's some wristshots of my favourites of the night.

standard.jpg

The Phillipe Dufour Simplicity. Watch making artistry at its finest. This example comes with an enamel dial, Breguet hands with a white gold case. Only 200 pieces exist, each and every one hand assembled and hand finished.

The movement in all its glory. The geneva stripes are achieved by hand. Just stunning. This is my dream watch. Period.

orig.jpg

FP Journe Chronometre Souverain in polished titanium. Only 20 examples were ever created to celebrate the opening of the FP Journe Tokyo Boutique.

orig.jpg

FP Journe Octa Chronographe in Platinum (btw, FP Journe only uses platinum for his white metal pieces). This is a special edition with a Ruthenium dial which is now discontinued.

orig.jpg

FP Journe Resonance, which houses two escapements that beat in unison. A stunning piece.

orig.jpg

FP Journe Resonance in Rose Gold and Black Mother of Pearl dial. A very unique piece. The dial is just mesmarising.

orig.jpg

Lang & Heyne Friedrick August 1. One of the finest examples of what an artisan can do to transform a simple Unitas 6497.

orig.jpg

Sheer artwork and an excellent representation of classic Saxony watch making.

Max Busser & Friends (MB&F) Horological Machine #1

Max Busser & Friends (MB&F) Horological Machine #2

Two stunning pieces by Max Busser, who transformed Harry Winston into a haute horlogerie power house it is today. His Horological Machine #3 is even more creative but not to my taste. I love the HM#2.

That's all for now.

Bump just so more folks can see those pics. Timezone is my first love, and yet I've never seen some of those FP's. Stunning

I'm not a watch-person in general, but some of those are just really intriguing. The HM #1 and #2 have a steampunk-ish vibe to them which is pretty cool.

Not very often. One hidden gem there is the FP Journe centigraphe.

Indeed. That's what makes the HMs works of art.

Thought I'd just add the sound of my jaw-dropping...I honestly don't know too much about watches, but those really are pieces of art.
