I really don't have a problem with any of those combinations except maybe #1. The chinos seem a bit too casual for those shoes. However, it's not a really bad combo and would do in a pinch.

Too broad a question - the setting might eliminate many options. That said, the tie should be bold enough that people look toward the face instead of the feet.

Built-up shoulders and skinny lapels.
Perfect for a Lenny Bruce impersonator.


If you think that lapel is skinny, you must not have been paying much attention to lapel sizes the past several years. That would be a medium lapel to be worn with 8-9cm ties. As tie width narrow, so do lapels.
