    Ciao,

I recently saw a tie which I fell in love with at first sight: I really need to get my hands on it!

I have seen this tie quite a few times on different persons, so I was wondering if its a typical brand? I have seen something very similar from Zegna, just in other colors but still same paisley style!

    My kindest regards!

To me it looks like a common enough tie: paisley pattern on burgundy background, printed silk, minimal sheen. I'm sure lots of labels have similar designs. Not sure what specifically about the tie you love so much. You mentioned Zegna, any reason why you didn't purchase?

On second thought, that's Valentino, so... maybe look for Valentino ties? Possibly vintage?

    You are right!

The reason why I didnt purchase, was before I was waiting to figure out if perhaps it was something very specific.. I didnt want to go for the zegna tie, if I knew exactly where this came from :D

The tie you linked is beautiful!

Yes, I have been searching specifically for "Valentino tie" and I have seen the photo (that Ive linked) many times on google, but not a single one with a link or word about where the tie is from..

I guess I will have to settle for another option. I just love the burgundy color and the minimal sheen, it has a very rich texture to it.. Would work wonders with most of my blazers and shirts :)

I am adding a Silk Ancient Madder in that pattern to my line for next Fall. If you don't find it before the Fall you will be able to get it when the frost is on the pumpkin.

The photo is of Valentino Garavani and he was pictured wearing the same ensemble in another image, which if dated correctly, was taken in November of 2009. In all likelihood the tie is a vintage Valentino, as suggested by LA Guy. Assuming this is correct, it is unlikely that the exact tie is currently being produced.

    Your options include the following:
    • Purchasing the Zegna tie or another similar alternative.
    • Searching a fashion library image database for ties made in 2009 and earlier to try to narrow down the collection the tie was a part of. It is unlikely, but sometimes if you know what you are looking for, sometimes you can obtain vintage fashion pieces through sites like 1st Dibs and others.
    • Find the textile from a fashion image database of textiles. If successful in sourcing the textile you could then have a bespoke tie made just for you.

    Happy Hunting,

    Clive
