Hi. Traveling to London. Is there any store that carries Vass shoes (U Last only) or something on these lines and of the same quality? Budget it no more than US$ 900 or so. I know rent in London is expensive, etc etc.

Have tried Allen Edmonds etc, but they're too American/British for my tastes. I'm more into Italian cuts, so Santoni, etc.

Appreciate any recommendations!

I don't think there are any shops which stocks Vass's shoe, however in Vigo street there is JM Weston and few shoe shop, they all are pretty nice.

Obviously don't forget to check out Edward Green and the couple shoe shop in the small malls, I think they all are your budget

Have fun in London

From what I understand, U Last is a pretty narrow shape (A-B shape?), unfortunately I do not think any London shoe shop do much narrow fitting...... but some British made shoe do have Stream line 'looking shoe'

Recently I tried on a pair of Cottesmore by C&J, E fitting but they are quiet narrow shaped I think.

The real deal I have seen are some shoes in Harrods, Sales is starting this weekend, might worth a visit. Zenga shoes are usually extremely narrow, that might be your cup of tea.

Sorry I wish I can help more but I am no expert on shoes.

C&J 348 is most similar to U-Last, but C&J quality is yards behind Vass.

C&J 337 and EG 88 and 888 are also similar.

C&J 358 is basically the handgrade version of the 348, which is benchgrade. Same basic design, but higher quality.

G&G would be a good option to consider.

Harrods shoe department is pretty weak these days. I passed by yesterday and of the top brands the only one to have anything interesting is Santoni which has a couple of nice limited editions for stupid prices - and some ugly as hell FAMs side by side with their Magnanni copies for half the price
The same was true a month ago so i would be surprised anything great appearing on sale

btw the zegna section is really weak

Thanks gentlemen.

Harrod's has been disappointing the last several times I've visited.

Will be sure to check out EG 88 and 888! I've never quite like C&J's style--it's almost there, but not quite. But the EG's at least in screenshots look quite sleek.

In shoes, Zegna dishes out a ton of crap every year. The only decent stuff I've seen recently that's not stodgy overpriced drivel is from Zegna Couture. But they do a lot of monk etc, which is not what I want.

Santoni will need to be on a 70% off for me to pay for them

Thanks!

STF has quite a few Santonis albeit only at 60%
