I see a lot of young people wearing a wide range of outrageous outfits. I cannot imagine them wearing the same stuff when they are 25. By then, maybe they will consider wearing a watch.
When I was young, I never imagined that I would end up wearing cufflinks or that I would actually enjoy wearing ties.

Well, uh...no, they don't.

As for watches, I haven't had a watch for so many years I can't even count. This goes back to my swimming years where having to remove my watch for every training and stashing it away was a pain.

Sigh, the title of the thread is a reference to an ongoing joke over at Slashdot.

Sadly, I don't spend enough time at Slashdot (as in: none) to grasp the joke. As for watches, there are a number of companies that make only new and bizarro time pieces, catering to a more flamboyant and, usually, younger crowd.

Personally, I've bought all of my watches of the past few years from www.tokyoflash.com. I tend towards the sleeker, non-esoteric lines there, and get endless compliments from both young and old about them. They are not traditional, but they are generally straightforward yet unique enough to avoid being "trendy."

I was responding to Alias's post about not needing a watch because he has his cell-phone. I use a pen that probably cost more than the average person's watch.
