In Celebration of Unconventional Beauty

I'm starting this thread partly in response to the 'overrated beauties' thread and partly in response to my otherwise-regrettable recent viewing of 'Punch Drunk Love': I'll start off with Emily Watson, the only real reason to suffer through that insufferable Adam Sandler film (though he wasn't bad). She's hardly a conventional beauty, and I've seen pictures that wouldn't even warrant the description "cute", much less beautiful, but viewing the film, I was smitten. Yours?

She's got a huge head, but I'd stuff Giada De Laurentiis' cannoli. I'd also let Nigella slap around my bangers and mash.

Isn't "In Celebration of Unconventional Beauty" often a euphemism for Ugly?

For instance, I think it would be appropriate to say "Rosie O'Donnell is an unconventional beauty', instead of calling her a fat, ugly, pig, like The Trumpster does!

Well, we're each discussing those women we personally DO find beautiful, regardless of the contrary opinions of others... In light of that, I'm sure Rosie would be grateful that you thought of her, and that you were courageous enough to admit so in this public forum.

Not everyone's cup of tea. I'd also like to second the Giada nomination.

Well, sure, but the world needs gay men, too.
Crush, yes. She's out-and-out magnetic. (FWIW, my wife agrees.) Unconventional? I don't think so.
With a few exceptions, most of the women identified in this thread and the one chorse linked to are quite attractive by "conventional" standards. If they weren't, we'd probably never have seen/heard of them. Frankly, I think most of us harbor these little fantasies that we're the only ones who see the true beauty in [fill in name of crushee], which supports the further fantasy that she'll never meet another man who appreciates them and as a result will be unfathomably appreciative, moved, and enraptured by our ability to give them the love and appreciation they've been so desperately missing their whole lives. (Nothing wrong with those little fantasies as long as we recognize them for what they are and don't get caught by hotel security trying to climb up to their windows.)

Not getting caught is always the key.

I don't harbor any particular fantasy about Kelly Clarkson, but do believe see has a kind of look/charm that, while not conventionally attractive, could be a challenge to resist, near closing time.

Probably not very unconvential but I'm rather fond of Audrey Tatou. Also Carole Lombard.

That's not a very flattering picture of her face, but five or so years ago, Melissa Auf der Maur did look nice. (Same body build as Sarah McLachlan, who used to have similar hair.)

Emily Watson is an interesting one. Her facial features are very youthful, and her face shape looks very fertile. In fact, she had a child just before age 40.

Speaking of hot chicks who rock.

Susanna Hoffs = so very hot.
Susanna Hoffs + Rickenbacker = sexy time explosion.

Has anybody heard her new rekord with Matt Sweet yet?
